This was the Manhattan skyline in 1968 as seen from the Staten Island Ferry. The Singer Tower, which was the tallest building in the skyline at the time, is visible on right. It was demolished later that year. building demolished.

Editor's Note: The Singer Tower was the tallest building in the world from 1908 to 1909. It was razed along with the adjacent City Investing Building to make way for One Liberty Plaza.
