I have searched and searched online and you would think in this day and age with the internet, I would have no trouble finding something like this. There was a place in NYC, possibly E.40's, run by nuns, that housed children. I don't know if the children were orphaned or, as in my sister and I's case, parents having marital problems. I seem to remember only girls. If there were boys, we were segregated and don't recall seeing boys. I know the years were 1964-65. On certain days/weekends, people would come and take you out for the day or weekend. I remember going to the Empire State Building with a woman. My sister and I spent Christmas with an adult brother and sister. Thank God they were all decent people! What could have happened! I know this sounds very creepy, and it was, and has always been with me. I think my sister was more bothered than I. Sadly, my sister passed away 3 years ago. My parents are gone. We did wind up back as a family and it was a very nice life. All relatives are deceased that would know, except for one. And she doesn't recall name of place. Please, if anyone can help with their memories I would so appreciate it. It's just something I've wanted to know for so long and it was a delicate subject with my parents. Thank you in advance.
