I have been searching for my maternal grandmotherís birth family

My grandmother's birth father was William Corcoran (born approximately 1903/1904) and believed to have been from the County Cork, Ireland area (and possibly was a farmer).

My grandmotherís birth mother was Catherine Heneghan (born approximately 1904/1905) also from Ireland but unsure of the region.

As William and Catherine were unwed, Catherine went to The Foundling Hospital (aka The Foundling Home) located in Manhattan, New York and she placed the baby for adoption. The baby was my maternal grandmother- born on March 23, 1926 as Ellen Heneghan.

Within a few months my grandmother, Ellen, was adopted and her name was legally changed.

I am unsure whether or not Catherine and/or Williamís families had emigrated to the United States or whether or not Catherine and/or William remained in the United States or one or both of them went back to IrelandÖ. I know for certain Catherine was in Manhattan, NY to have the baby- where she was before or after is unknown. As for William, I donít know where he was before, during or afterÖ.

I also know the following address was significant at the time Catherine placed the baby for adoption- I have yet to determine what the address was.
68 West 102 Street
New York, New York

ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE IMMENSELY APPRECIATED! PLEASE feel free to contact me directly OR pass my information along if you know someone I can be connected with.
